Work!

A little preview of the various shoots I've been working on over the past week. Can't wait to have time to edit and finish working on them all.

This Week.

I feel bad for neglecting my blog. My brain is also starting to feel the effects of not writing/journaling/blogging for so long. To make matters worse, I've been clicking so much in the last week or so that I have a massive pile of culling and editing to do and just thinking about it makes me hyperventilate a little bit.

But I'm not complaining; I learn as much from post-processing as I do from shooting so I know it's good for me to do it so that I can learn more about my style and get more efficient. (Note: This means that being a photographer also means spending many hours at my computer.)

Anyway, to summarize my time in Bombay so far, I have been shooting a lot, had very little time for post-processing, meeting with photographers, visiting galleries, exploring parts of Bombay that I've never explored before, spending as much time with my friends as possible, and eating good food!

And... that's all the energy for writing that I have left for today.

Here's a photo to give you an idea of the madness that I got myself into this evening! Ha ha! Photographing a project designed by Robert's company in a slum area in Vasinaka. We needed to get one essential shot after the sun had set so we put together a makeshift 'tripod' so I could shoot at a slow shutter-speed. Needless to say, I needed some height too so we got a stool from a kind vegetable vendor, I removed my shoes and got on top of the stool to be able to set up the shot comfortably. It was great fun and we attracted a whole lot of attention (some of which was completely unwanted!) but they made for some great shots!

Have an awesome week!

Thamma.

Jo and I spent the afternoon with my paternal grandmom today. After lunch, some mad photo-taking in the garden and a power-nap on the floor of the living room (really, we just passed out on the cool floor for like 20 minutes or something.), we went on a search for a photograph of my great-grandfather for another photo-project when I get back to Bangalore.

My granddad loved taking photographs and would develop them himself so it's always fun looking through these photos.

This is Thamma.

And one of me with Thamma.

In Mumbai

Hello Bloggerworld!

I am in Mumbai, having an incredible time in my favourite city!

On Friday and Saturday I worked on the sets of Wilbur Sargunaraj, India's first YouTube star and Ben Stamper who I worked with on Horse and Rider. Ben is the DOP on this film and I got the chance to assist him a little bit and do some behind the scenes photography for the film too. It was amazing and I am so so glad that I got to be a part of this incredible project. Wilbur is truly a Simple Superstar and I pray that amazing things will happen with this film!

Yesterday, we dropped the crew off at the airport from where they headed back to South India to finish off the shoot and then my friend Robert and I headed over to Kandivali where we spent time with a little family and I did a photoshoot with Moksh, who is the cutest 11-month old baby on the block! It was an amazing time and I can't wait to work on the photographs and share them you.

I am currently at my dear friend Vini's house on the IIT, Powai campus and we are getting all set to do a photoshoot together!

God is good and I am grateful and so happy.

Have a First Class (like Wilbur would say it) week!

Toodles!

Wednesday Words.

Words from Gungor's song Grace For Me:

Valleys come and tears aren’t dry yet and there are things I don’t yet see.
But I’ll rejoice despite of hardship; You’ll watch over me.
